CITO Gear
At Cachebox, we are not only committed to Geocaching and it participants, but also the environment. Responsible Geocaching also means being responsible to the planet we live on. That is why we decided to carry a full line of CITO gear!
CITO is the abbreviation for "Cache In Trash Out". Cache in Trash Out is the idea that Geocachers should leave an area that they have geocached in better off than they found it. When you enter an area with the intent to find a Geocache, you should also keep an eye out for any garbage and litter. In your geocaching backpack or your pocket, you should take a long a litter bag. It is easy to pick up empty bottles, scraps of paper, and other debris as you walk along.
Geocaching itself is an environmental pursuit. One of the main goals is to direct other people to areas of great natural beauty or historical significance. It is a way to combine nature studies with fun events and to introduce others to the great outdoors. Cache In Trash Out is a great way to encourage each other to treat nature with respect and help preserve it.
